Shawn Dougan has always loved playing with old cars. As the sales manager at Hyman Ltd. Classic Cars, he gets to do what he loves, daily.
Shawn has always shown interest in the old car hobby as he fondly remembers playing with toy cars as a child. Since age 3, he has been surrounded by vintage automobiles thanks in part to his family. Having always had something cool in his driveway to play with, Shawn had the opportunity to get to know and love many different types of vehicles. He even started driving when he was 13 years old and had never owned less than two cars at any one given time.
In 2001, Shawn joined the Hyman Ltd. Classic Cars team as head of our sales department and Mark Hyman’s right hand man. Shawn has adoration for all cars, but has a particular affinity for Classics. When asked ‘what is the best part of being in the collector car industry’, he effortlessly responds that “Playing with cars is a big part of the picture, but the best is when I get to travel all over the country and all over the world to meet fellow ‘car nuts’ like myself. The people are what make this hobby great.”
With three kids of his own, he has passed his interests onto his kids, ages 8, 10, and 12. They have started to show signs of having a love for cars just as their father did when he was young. “The kids love being able to join me at these events and they always look forward to seeing what interesting cars dad will bring home next.”
