2006 Porsche 911 Carrera 4S Coupe

One does not have to be an enthusiast to be somewhat familiar with the Porsche brand. The Stuttgart marque has created some of the world’s most well-known sports cars and despite their history dating back to the early 1950s, they continue to create cars that make headlines to this day. At the core of their model lineup is the 911, the rear-engined sports car that has been extensively lauded as being comfortable in any situation, whether used as a daily driver or a track toy.

In 2004, Porsche introduced the sixth generation of the 911, known internally as the 997. As a successor to the groundbreaking 996, it was an evolution both stylistically and mechanically. It most notably replaced the polarizing “fried egg” headlights with more traditional oval ones. Larger, 18-inch wheels came standard while the naturally-aspirated 3.6 L Flat-6 initially put out 321 hp and 273 lb-ft of torque. The 997 could be had with a number of outputs ranging from the base model Carrera to the pavement-punishing GT2, all in various body styles.

In 2005, the more powerful Carrera S was introduced, which had power output increased to 355 hp when compared to its base counterpart thanks to a larger displacement of 3.8 L. The S also featured lowered suspension with Porsche’s Active Suspension Management system, even larger 19-inch wheels, better brakes, a sports exhaust, Bi-Xenon headlights, and aluminum interior trim. That same year, Porsche also introduced an all-wheel drive configuration that could be had with the Coupé, Cabriolet, and Targa body styles. Examples with the AWD included can be distinguished by the addition of a “4” after the model name.

This particular 2006 Porsche Carrera 4S is a one-owner example with just over 1,600 original miles on the odometer. Being an S, it features the larger 3.8 L Flat-6 mated to a 6-speed manual transmission.

Meticulously maintained since new and sparingly driven, this Carrera 4S is in as close to showroom condition as one can get without a time machine. This car was purchased from Len Stoler Porsche in Owings Mills, MD in Arctic Silver Metallic with a contrasting Black leather interior. Options include black floor mats with the Porsche script, heated front seats, Porsche crest wheel caps, and the Power Seat Package. The “aluminum look” rear center console is also listed as an “exclusive option” on the window sticker.

Prior to our receiving the car, it had been stored for an extended duration as a result of the owner's passing so a fresh full service was performed giving it the mechanical attention it needed. The service included a new battery, fuel system flush, new fluids and filters all around, an A/C recharge, and four new tires.

The paintwork all around retains its factory shine, with nary a major imperfection in sight. The matching wheels are in a similar condition to the body and retain their optional center caps all around. The interior echoes the immaculate nature of the exterior, with no rips or tears. The electronics all function as they should and the buttons retain all of their markings with no rubbing or deterioration present. Upon purchase, the new owner will receive all of the owner’s booklets in their original pouch, the original window sticker, two keys, and the service records on file.

Thanks to its low miles and recent service, this German stallion is ready to hit the road once more and wow the attendees of any Porsche club event or regional Concours. As these cars age, there will be progressively fewer chances of acquiring low-mileage examples like this one. We have the keys ready for you.
