The Pinehurst Concours d’Elegance blends the history, heritage and grandeur from three of North Carolina’s proudest traditions – motorsports, golf and military – in a unique celebration of America’s passion for the automobile and for the benefit of the brave men and women who protect and provide the very freedom we enjoy as United States citizens.

In 1898, Congressman Alan T. Tredway, from Stockbridge, MA, advised Pinehurst founder James Tufts against adding another nine holes to the sole course at Pinehurst, because golf is just a “passing fancy.” Against Tredway’s advice, Tufts made the changes, and history – and an American institution – was created.

It is the intention of those behind the Pinehurst Concours d’Elegance to continue the spirit of innovation and excellence established at Pinehurst more than 100 years ago with this event. The team has a clear vision – one that is not just a passing fancy – but for Pinehurst to be home to a different type of American institution: a premier automotive and lifestyle experience.
