One of Hyman Ltd.’s proudest achievements of 2017 was the sale of the 2016 Pebble Beach Concours Best in Show winner; this 1936 Lancia Astura “Tipo Bocca” Cabriolet by Pinin Farina. Staggeringly beautiful and restored to be the finest of its kind, this Lancia has a most compelling story. First displayed on the Lancia of England stand at the 1936 Olympia Motor Show, it was found abandoned in a hedge in the 1960s, restored at the Pininfarina factory in Turin, found its way to the hands of Eric Clapton, then back to Pininfarina and on to Hyman Ltd. prior to its world-class restoration. We are so very proud to have sold this stunning automobile twice, and to be part of its illustrious history.
