In today’s automotive landscape, nearly every manufacturer has thrown their hat into the ring with an SUV. Porsche pioneered this segment with their groundbreaking Cayenne, which purists vilified even as it sold in massive numbers and essentially saved the company’s fortunes. Once sacred marques like Rolls-Royce, Maserati, Lamborghini, and Ferrari have since joined the ranks with SUVs of their own. Bentley was no exception, announcing the Bentayga in 2015 based on the concept EXP 9F of 2012. While there was undoubtedly a collective groan from traditionalists, the model was critical for the marque’s survival in the modern era, and engineers ensured it was rich with Bentley DNA.

Stonking performance was assured thanks to the twin-turbo, 6.0-litre W12 shared across the Bentley range. The versatile platform is shared with others in the VW-Audi fold, including Porsche, Lamborghini, Audi, and VW, but the superlative build quality, unique styling, and opulent appointments ensure there’s no mistaking the Bentayga for anything less than a Bentley.

This superb 2018 Bentayga W12 Onyx Edition is a two-owner example showing just over 67,000 miles from new. According to the accompanying Carfax report, it was sold new in Oklahoma, remaining with the first owner for nearly four years. It has since been in the care of a collector and enthusiast, and it was primarily used for long-distance highway touring. It is presented in superb condition, finished in Glacier White over a gorgeous Saddle and Beluga-colored leather interior. The instrument panel features contrasting stitching and is accented with brightly polished alloy and Dark Fiddleback Eucalyptus wood trim. The leather and carpets are in exceptional condition throughout.

This Bentley has a clean Carfax report and accompanying service records showing regular oil changes and service, including the fitment of a new water pump and a coolant flush performed at the end of 2022. It is accompanied by original vin-matched books, a front license bracket, a battery tender, and two spare keys.

A beautiful example of Bentley’s superb entry into the highly competitive SUV market, one prod of the throttle on this mighty W12 Bentayga will be enough to put a smile on the face of even the staunchest marque enthusiast.
