Retaining its original chassis, number 2177, and original engine, number J-121, this car was purchased new by chewing gum magnate Phil Wrigley, and delivered new to Chicago. Initially fitted with a Murphy Convertible Coupe body, Wrigley returned the car to Indianapolis within a year or so to be refitted with the striking LeBaron coachwork it wears today. It went on to spend its early life on Wrigley’s ranch on Catalina Island, California, and has well-documented history since then. In the most recent owner’s care since 1992, and treated to a full nut-and-bolt restoration in 2004 by Classic & Exotic Service.
