Introduced in 1984, the Testarossa was a significant advance for Ferrari and served as the company’s top of the range model for the rest of the decade. Designed for series production, the flat-12 supercar continued Ferrari’s twelve-cylinder tradition in a modern mid-engined configuration that could be traced directly to its 512 sports prototypes and to Ferrari’s years of successful Formula One experience. Expensive, fast and distinctively styled by Pininfarina with trend-making strakes guiding air to its rear-mounting cooling, it was one of the most memorable cars of its day.
This 1990 Ferrari Testarossa, unlike the many that have been used and abused over the years, is a very clean, properly maintained and pampered example that has seen little use and still presents beautifully in its original condition. Finished in Rosso Corsa over tan leather, it has had just three owners from new. The car has traveled just 18,270 miles from new. It had a documented speedometer change in 2004 in which the new speedo was set to the correct mileage and the original speedometer is included with the car. Also done in 2004 was the complex and expensive 30,000-mile service, and the car comes with service records and a clean Carfax to show that it will not suffer from the deferred maintenance or previous accident damage that can spoil such a wonderful and precisely engineered automobile. It also comes with the original jack and tool kit. The paint and interior are both strong, the engine bay is gorgeous and the only non-original item is the upgraded Sony CD stereo. Always cared for and lightly used, this car is ideal for collectors who appreciate the phenomenal performance of these highly-engineered and competent twelve-cylinder supercars.
