The 250SE may be the pinnacle of the collaboration between Mercedes-Benz and Bosch in development and application of mechanical timed fuel injection. Introduced on the 300SL Gullwing in 1954, fuel injection immediately demonstrated its capability to extract enhanced power and over subsequent years Mercedes applied it to a steadily expanding offering of sporting sedans, coupes and cabriolets starting with the pontoon fender 220SE and capped by the fast, luxurious 600 V-8. In the 250 series fuel injection added 24 SAE horsepower to the dual carburetor 250S, bringing the 2496cc engine's output to 170hp at 5600 rpm. The 111 series body and chassis of the 220SE and 250SE coupe and cabriolet are renowned for their comfort, quality and handling and are much appreciated by collectors who value style, luxury and performance. This 1967 Mercedes-Benz 250SE Coupe is a beautiful, complete, well maintained low-miles car. Equipped with Mercedes-Benz's highly regarded 4-speed automatic transmission, it boasts a sliding sunroof, Knhlmeister air conditioning, beautiful zebra wood interior trim, fog lights, and a multiband Blaupunkt radio and is finished in medium gray with a white roof over red leather upholstery and interior trim with matching red carpets. The original books, in their original and nearly like new pouch, go with the car which also has its original warranty book, M-B dealer map and a period AAA directory. It appears to be completely original with the exception of a high quality repaint done thoroughly and right with attention to often overlooked areas such as the door jambs. The chrome has been redone where necessary and sparkles. Even the carpets appear to be original and better than expected in a car of this age. Service paperwork with the car shows, among other things, that the tires were replaced in 1982 at 52,000 miles. The odometer now reads 63,746 miles which, on the basis of the car's condition and such circumstantial evidence, is probably all it has covered from new. The engine compartment is done right and freshly detailed. The trunk is similarly presented with a good trunk mat and the original jack and wheel wrench. It is highly unusual to find a 111-series 250SE coupe in such fine, original, unmolested, consistently maintained condition.
