Jaguar made many substantial changes in the second series of XKE including the larger 4.2 liter engine, fully synchromesh 4-speed transmission, larger parking lights and raised headlights and a full front bumper to meet US requirements. Even with US emission controls the XK six still delivered 246 horsepower and 263 lb-ft torque. This 1970 XKE Roadster is a pretty car in dark blue with red leather upholstery, a black cloth top boot, white vinyl top, chrome wire wheels and black wall tires. It is a good running car that has never had, nor needed, a full restoration. The paint has been done and there are signs of bodywork evident on the doors. The engine bay is neat and orderly. The leather interior is older but sound and presentable with an attractive patina. A good running, driving car, it is an ideal acquisition for the coming touring season and weekend road trips.
