1961 Imperial Lebaron

With quad headlights set into nacelles under projecting front fenders flanking a finely-detailed chrome grille, sweeping rear fender fins and an angular formal roofline without center pillars, the 1961 Imperial LeBaron Southampton sedan recalled the formal design of Thirties Chrysler Imperials created by LeBaron's Ralph Roberts. Lavishly equipped and powered by Chrysler's 413 cubic inch V-8 with 350 brake horsepower, the LeBaron was further distinguished by brushed stainless steel roof panels above the doors that invited passengers into its lavish leather-upholstered and trimmed interior. Only 1,026 were built and just a few survive. Few if any can aspire to equal the over the top restoration bestowed on this Tuscan Bronze with two-tone brown and palomino leather interior example. Your father's banker drove -- or more likely was driven in -- a car like this. Everything, literally, has been done to the highest standards, from the gold carpets to the fastidiously detailed and accurately presented engine compartment. Like all its counterparts it is fully power-assisted even to the vent windows and seat. Few automobiles have received such amazing attention to detail and quality of workmanship and materials. It is amazing.
