1962 Fiat Multipla

Fiat's 600 Multipla is one of the most ingenious users of space ever created. Based on the 600 sedan and convertible, the Multipla moves the front seats forward into space created by replacing the 600's transverse leaf spring independent front suspension with coil springs and wishbones from the Fiat 1100. The 12" spare wheel and tire were tucked in front of the passenger's seat, leaving the back fully open for two rows of seats which fold ingeniously into the floor to create 18 square feet of cargo area, enough to carry a fortune in parmesano, accessible through a pair of rear doors which open wide for easy access. The 600D, introduced in 1960, has an enlarged 767cc rear-mounted overhead valve inline four-cylinder engine of 32 horsepower driving through a 4-speed transmission with synchromesh on the top three gears for 110 kph top speed (which sounds more impressive than 68 mph.) This 1962 Fiat 600D Multipla has been thoroughly restored throughout to high standards in light blue and white inside and out with grey carpets. It has radial whitewall tires. An ideal weekend runabout; particularly useful around town where its 28'6" turning circle is exceptionally maneuverable; it is a cheeky little vehicle with multiple possibilities.
