From its beginnings in 1936 as the TA, a succession of MGs in the T-series epitomized the idea of the classic British roadster. Light weight and stiffly sprung they were intuitively responsive. The experience of driving one is elemental, both in the driving and in the exposure to the elements which their minimal weather equipment entails. Introduced in 1953, the TF's raked radiator, smaller wheels, reshaped fenders and faired-in headlights updated the T's looks to compete with rapidly evolving competition. This MG TF is the ultimate expression of the legendary MG T-series, with power from a larger 1,466cc engine. The added 216cc displacement by itself is hardly worth notice, but it represented a 16 1/2% increase from the earlier TC and TD MGs and the added 9 horsepower made a big difference in the TF 1500's performance. This example is crisp and sharp in black with red leather upholstery, a tan cloth top, tonneau cover and side curtains and black carpets. Its chrome wire wheels glisten and complement the blackwall radial tires so important for improving handling. It is accessorized with a chrome luggage rack, wind wings and fender-mounted rear view mirrors and has a highly detailed engine compartment. For classic British sports car appearance and handling a T-series MG is hard to beat, and a TF 1500 will outrun them all.
