Like the Model T before it, Ford's Model A, with its more powerful 40hp engine, 3-speed sliding gear transmission, stronger frame and updated electrical system, quickly became the basis for a number of specialized applications including this delightful "Double Door" panel truck. Finished in green with black fenders and yellow wire wheels carrying black wall tires, it has black upholstery, a winged radiator cap with Motometer, dual rear view mirrors and an opening windshield. The bed has a wooden floor and wood slats on the sides to protect the outer body panels. The side-hinged double rear doors are unusual and distinctive, as is its tall composite-covered roof which leaves abundant headroom in the rear for storing and comfortably retrieving all manner of goods and supplies. It has been the recipient of a nice restoration with features like double bar chrome front bumper and Ford step plates on the running boards. If not unique, its high roof and double door body is so unusual that it will probably never encounter a similar example no matter how many truck, commercial vehicle or Ford events it attends. Among the millions of Fords built, this stands out as a particularly unusual and attractively presented example.
