Donald Healey was a gifted designer of automobiles but on the evidence before us he also was much more. In addition to being a successful competitor in closed circuit races and on rallies he also was an accomplished outboard motorboat designer including this very attractive 14' 6" motorboat, the Healey Ski-Master, produced by the Aqua Craft Company in Bridport, Dorset, England. Hull #157 is made from molded plywood with African mahogany framing, Douglas Fir stringers and oak rub rails. The exterior is painted White with Red accents and has a varnished deck. The walk-thru design interior is varnished and has Red cushions. It has been restored, is in very good and usable condition and has a current State of Oregon registration. Power is supplied by a classic Mercury Thunderbolt Four Mark 55E outboard with electric starting. It is one of only two examples known to be in the U.S. and comes complete with a trailer also in very good condition and a full complement of equipment including horn and tachometer. Its rarity and excellent condition will make it the center of attention at any wooden boat gathering. By comparison to it even Garwood’s are commonplace.
