Jean Daninos created the Facel Vega to be the ultimate high performance luxury gran turismo. Combining classic French experience in road holding and high speed safety with Daninos' own elegant coachwork design and the power and reliability of American V8 powertrains from Chrysler created one of the finest, most luxurious and distinctive gran turismos of the Fifties. The FV3 like this 1958 model FV3B added 1.5" to the wheelbase for more interior room. Equipped with a Chrysler Wedge V8 and automatic transmission as installed in later Facel Vega HK500 models, this example has a very rare and desirable Webasto-style folding fabric sunroof, chrome wire wheels with black wall radial tires, an AM-FM-cassette stereo and a later console-style floor shifter. Finished in Metallic Silver with Red leather upholstery and matching red carpets, it is a very pretty restoration done some time ago but maintained to high standards and is fitted with the distinctive Euro taillights. The wood grain applique dashboard and instrument panel as well as the upholstery and interior trim are in very nice condition and it runs and drives extremely well. A handsome driver in exceptionally good condition, it also benefits from a fully detailed engine compartment. Corinne Calvet, Tony Curtis, Ringo Starr and Stirling Moss all were Facel Vega owners and it takes only one look at this handsome example to appreciate why.
