1953 Jaguar XK120M

The Fixed Head Coupe was the class ride among Jaguar XK 120s, particularly the high performance M with its 180hp engine developed from the LeMans winning C-type. The fixed roof and rollup windows of the coupe gave the Jaguar designers -- never short of ideas about how to include more luxury and comfort in their cars -- the opportunity to trim the interior of the coupe with highly polished fine burl wood trim, leather and carpet. The XK 120M Fixed Head Coupe is the best combination of performance and luxury in any early Fifties cars, characteristics that are more than evident in this beautiful example attractively finished in Cotswold Blue. The luxurious interior is upholstered in inviting Light Grey leather and has matching carpets. The wood dashboard, instrument panel and door cappings and window surrounds are finished in brightly finished sumptuous burl wood giving the cockpit the ambience of a fine gentlemen's club, albeit one capable of 120 mph. Wide whitewall tires are mounted on chrome spoke wire wheels and the exterior presentation is completed with a pair of period-correct tribar headlights. The engine (from a Jaguar Mark 2) and under hood area is detailed and polished to a high level of presentation. The whole car gives the impression of being carefully and conscientiously restored by professionals who took the time to do it right. It will be proudly driven and shown.
