1904 Ford Model C

There were many Fords before Henry Ford created the Model T in 1908. This 1904 Model C was one of them, its alphabetic designation indicating just how prolific Henry's ideas were in the years leading up to the breakthrough in price, quality and performance that Ford was pursuing. It is powered by a 2-cylinder 10hp engine bearing serial number 805. The righthand drive car with its bright brass steering column and wheel has varnished wood wheels, a huge Gray & Davis centrally mounted acetylene headlight, Dietz kerosene sidelights. It comes with documentation going back to 1953; a lively old relic of Henry Ford's pursuit of the perfect automobile for America's agrarian core and its 4-seat Rear Entrance Tonneau coachwork is both attractive and practical. Its restoration in Red with Black accent and fenders, varnished wood spoke wheels and Black leather upholstery is showing some age but is entirely usable as is. A fresh restoration to show-winning condition would be straightforward and uncomplicated. Dating from 1904, it also should be eligible to participate in the very desirable and exclusive London to Brighton Vintage Car Run.
