1957 Jaguar XK140

The XK 140MC may be the best of all the Jaguar XKs on the highway. The engine was relocated for better balance and more interior room, the power was increased, particularly on the MC version with its free-breathing C-type cylinder head, engine cooling was improved in a number of ways and the appointments were upgraded. The Fixed Head Coupe had figured and brightly varnished wood interior trim and more luxurious upholstery by virtue of the weather protection afforded by its fixed roof and rollup windows. This 1957 Jaguar XK 140MC Fixed Head Coupe is finished in Old English White with Tan leather upholstery. It is fitted with a radio, heater, chrome wire wheels and Lucas fog lamps. The engine is very attractively presented with polished cam covers. Especially attractive to collectors, it is one of the rare examples fitted with the three-speed Borg Warner automatic transmission for carefree driving. Few of these automatic transmission Jaguars were built and even fewer survive, particularly with the high performance 210hp MC engine which gives the automatic performance which is comparable with the standard XK 140. This example is very tidy and correct, with usable, attractive cosmetics that make it an ideal driver, particularly if slow speeds or traffic are going to be encountered.
