Morgan is the last traditional British roadster, and the Plus 8 is the last of its kind. Introduced in 1968, the Plus 8's two inch longer wheelbase and four inch wider track was necessitated to accept wider alloy wheels and tires and to make room for the new engine, the Rover 215 cubic inch all aluminum overhead valve V8 originally designed by Buick for the Skylark. The V8 bumped the power by nearly 80% making the Plus 8 the best-performing Morgan in years but sadly emissions and crash testing kept them out of the U.S. market until the early 80's when an independent dealer, Isis Imports, responded to incessant demand and devised ways to meet crash test requirements. Emissions standards were met by converting the Rover V8 to run on propane. This 1982 Morgan Plus 8 is one of those conversions, finished in Red with Tan leather and Tan cloth top, in addition to the V8 power it has the ultimate 5-speed transmission and is complete with all its original accessories and weather equipment including top, tonneau cover, jack, tools, an under-dash cassette stereo, seat belts and side curtains. It has covered only 4,082 miles from new and is spotless in every respect, still riding on its original Pirelli P6 tires. It offers classic Morgan style, handling and road holding in a powerful, rare and historically significant example as well as being in highly desirable original condition throughout.
