There is no denying the appeal of this 1946 Oldsmobile Sixty Six convertible. One of only 1,409 made in this model in 1946, the first production year following World War II, it has had a careful cosmetic restoration with just a few subtle touches to give it a unique, distinctive and very stylish look. The 100 horsepower Oldsmobile Sixty Series inline six with oil filter and air cleaner drives through Oldsmobile's Hydra-Matic automatic transmission. It is stylishly presented in Miami Sand with a Maroon interior with Tan cord seat cushion and back inserts and a Black cloth convertible top. In addition to bumper guards, it has factory fog lights, turn signals, backup lights, heater, radio and a power-operated top. The engine compartment is clean, tidy and detailed carefully. Its style is accented with rear wheel fender skirts, a magnificent windshield sun visor and wide whitewall tires on 15" wheels with trim rings and stock hubcaps, 1" smaller than the stock 16" wheels. Although it is otherwise completely stock, even including the standard Oldsmobile Sixty Six grille, it appears to be slightly lowered and the effect harmonizes with the smaller wheel/tire combination to dramatically emphasize the clean, sharp, refined styling of the '46 Olds. It has the style and distinction of a California Custom Ford or Chevy, achieving the look without the effort through the talents of the Oldsmobile designers and a very astute restorer. A wonderful driver for the coming season, it will get admiring looks wherever it goes.
