1963 Jaguar XKE

The XKE Coupe may be the sleekest, sveltest, sexiest automobile ever designed. At the XKE's introduction it was the coupe which got all the attention and this beautiful Opalescent Blue example has been treated to a spectacular, correct restoration appropriate to the XKE Coupe's design. Recently judged by JCNA at 99.66 points (the judging sheets are in the car), its condition belies the fact that the restoration was done nearly ten years ago and emphasizes the quality of the workmanship and materials used. The bodywork is great, all the panels fit smoothly and evenly, the chrome is gorgeous, the paint is sharp. It has chrome wire wheels mounted with black wall tires which complement the lean, purposeful lines of the XKE Coupe perfectly and emphasize the way the chassis sits correctly on its wheels. The interior is Dark Blue, as are the carpets, and a period AM radio is fitted. This is a really nice, solid, well done, honest, straight example of the car Road & Track's Henry N. Manney called, "the world's greatest crumpet-catcher," done right without being overdone.
