1948 Jaguar Convertible

The Mk IV was Jaguar's first postwar model. The three-position Drophead coupe was the most luxurious, attractive and distinctive. This beautiful example is a particularly rare and desirable left-hand drive model that is powered by Jaguar's 125 horsepower 3 1/2 liter pushrod overhead valve inline six cylinder engine with a top speed of over 90mph. The design is the personification of classic elegance and the Mk IV is one of the few postwar cars that is considered a Full Classic by the Classic Car Club of America, giving it entre to some of the most prestigious and enjoyable events. This car has received a high quality cosmetic restoration with excellent paint and interior and brilliant chrome. It is attractively finished in Dove Grey with Maroon fenders, body color wheels and a Black leather interior. The 3-position top (fully erected, retracted over the front seat like a sedanca, and fully stowed) is Black cloth. A full set of tools including the crank and jack resides in the fitted tray in the luggage trunk. In common with other Jaguars of the period it is luxuriously trimmed with leather and highly polished wood, an extremely elegant car for the money in 1948 and it still is today.
