2013 Mercedes-Benz SLS AMG GT

Mercedes-Benz introduced the SLS AMG in 2010 as the first automobile developed entirely by Mercedes-AMG. Conceived as a modern flagship sports car, the SLS drew clear inspiration from the legendary 300 SL Gullwing while establishing a distinct identity of its own. Designer Mark Fetherston gave the car traditional front-engine proportions, with a long hood, compact passenger compartment, and short rear deck, while its signature roof-hinged gullwing doors provided an unmistakable visual connection to its celebrated predecessor.

Beneath the long aluminum hood is AMG’s naturally aspirated 6.2-liter V8, designated M159 and commonly marketed as a 6.3-liter. In standard SLS specification, the hand-built engine produced 563 horsepower and 479 lb-ft of torque, delivered to the rear wheels through a seven-speed dual-clutch transaxle. An aluminum spaceframe helped keep weight in check, while the rear-mounted gearbox contributed to favorable weight distribution. Mercedes-AMG also drew on its considerable motorsport expertise during the SLS program, and the model subsequently established a successful competition record in GT3 racing around the world.

For 2013, Mercedes-Benz introduced the SLS AMG GT, further developing an already formidable package. Output increased to 583 horsepower, accompanied by revisions to the transmission calibration and AMG Adaptive Performance Suspension. These changes sharpened the SLS without compromising the grand touring character that distinguished it from many contemporary mid-engine supercars.

The exceptional SLS AMG GT offered here is particularly notable for its specification, condition, and extraordinarily low mileage. It is finished in striking AMG Alubeam Silver, a costly $12,750 optional finish that accentuates the complex surfaces and dramatic proportions of the aluminum body. The exterior is complemented by Exclusive Black leather upholstery with contrasting red stitching, AMG-embossed headrests, and distinctive seatback badging.

Further desirable equipment includes the AMG Carbon Fiber package and AMG ten-spoke alloy wheels, providing subtle visual accents appropriate to the car’s performance-oriented character. Most significantly, this SLS AMG GT has covered just 674 miles from new and is presented in excellent condition throughout. It is accompanied by its owner’s manuals, service records, and a clean CARFAX Vehicle History Report.

With its naturally aspirated AMG V8, rear-mounted dual-clutch transaxle, aluminum construction, and signature gullwing doors, the SLS represents an important chapter in the history of Mercedes-AMG. The later GT specification adds further appeal, while this example’s exceptional mileage, desirable Alubeam Silver finish, and carefully selected options distinguish it from its peers. It is an excellent candidate for a significant collection and a particularly appropriate companion to the original Mercedes-Benz 300 SL Gullwing Coupe.
