WANTED- Auto Restoration, Refurbishment, Maintenance, and Detail Shop Manager

Our clientele consists of collectors, museums, and enthusiasts throughout the world who come to us for assistance in buying, selling, and in refining their collections. Our extensive inventory – typically 200+ vehicles — caters to many segments of the collector car industry. Today, our state of the art 67,000 sq ft. facility houses our sales department, repair facilities as well as our showroom and administrative offices.

Position Summary

As the Shop Manager at Hyman LTD, you will be responsible for overseeing the restoration, reconditioning, fabrication, maintenance, and detailing department and its employees. It is also the Shop Manager’s responsibility to own and maintain the department’s financials. This position reports directly to Hyman Ltd.’s owner.

Responsibilities & Qualifications

  • Manage and lead 10-person auto shop team of mechanics, detailers, and porters including coordinating scheduling, leading daily stand up team meetings, enforcing company policies, and prioritizing scheduled & unscheduled maintenance
  • Coordinate and collaborate cross-functionally with all departments including management, accounting, sales, and shop. Ensure cars are prepared and loaded for viewings, car shows, etc.
  • Monitor and maintain Shop Department financials and key performance metrics including an operating budget for repair order sales as well as shop expenses
  • Responsible for reviewing and tracking shop department expenses (receipt submission, approvals, per diem adherence, etc.)
  • Accountable for completing all inbound and outbound assessments and tracking of cars; update all assessment information in Word Press system
  • Maintain shop stock and associated inventories
  • Complete car reconditioning and repairs efficiently in a quality manner as needed to meet management, sales team, and customer expectations
  • Coordinate all outsourced shop work with 3rd party vendors
  • Responsible for all building repairs and maintenance including oversight and inspection of work performed by outside contractors (i.e., landscaping, alarm system, HVAC, electrical, plumbing, remodeling, etc.)
  • Maintain a safe, clean, and organized work environment
  • Committed to working in a team atmosphere
  • Perform other duties and special projects as assigned by management

 Education & Experience

  • 5+ years experience in vehicle reconditioning / auto repair industry
  • 3-5+ years managerial experience supervising 5+ employees
  • 3-5+ years effectively managing financials, reviewing budgets, tracking performance metrics
  • Proactive approach
  • Effective leadership and communication skills; attention to detail required

  • Ability to thrive in fast-paced environment
  • Multi-tasker that can effectively prioritize tasks
  • Intermediate level PC skills (i.e., MS Outlook, MS Word)
  • Must have valid driver’s license
  • Experience with At Your Service or Word Press is a plus
