2014 Ferrari F12 Berlinetta

By the 1990s, Ferrari’s series of mid-engine flat twelve-powered machines was showing its age. The roots began in 1973 with the 365 GT/4 BB and included the 512BB, Testarossa, 512TR, and 512M. The mid-engine cars served Ferrari well, but the time was right for something drastically different. Customers and many within the factory walls longed for a return to the classic front-engine GT car, and in 1996, they got their wish when Ferrari introduced the 550 Maranello. It was the first time in 23 years that a flagship Ferrari had its V12 engine in front of the driver. Nearly as soon as it broke cover, fans hailed the 550 as the spiritual successor to the legendary 365 GTB/4 Daytona. The public and the press delighted in its blend of tradition with modern technology, reigniting the passion for the classic front-engine V12 layout that is integral to Ferrari history. The 550 backed the hype with superb chassis dynamics, a powerful engine, and vastly improved technology and build quality. Along with the evolutionary 575M, and entirely new 599 of 2006, the door was thrown open to a new generation of twelve-cylinder supercars from Maranello, blending the latest in advance technology in a traditional layout cherished by marque enthusiasts.

In 2012, Ferrari once again redefined the front-engine performance car with the all-new F12 Berlinetta. As the replacement for the 599, the F12 featured a new aluminum alloy spaceframe chassis developed in partnership with Scaglietti, wrapped in a Pininfarina-designed body with F1-derived active and passive aerodynamics. Beneath the hood sat a naturally-aspirated 6.3-liter Tipo F140 V12, producing a bonkers 730 horsepower at 8,200 RPM. It had a nearly 130 horsepower advantage over the 599 and was even more potent than the track-only 599FXX. The F12 was also slightly lighter and boasted 76% more downforce than the 599. The impressive spec sheet included a 7-speed dual-clutch gearbox, carbon-ceramic brakes with active cooling, electronic differentials, ultra-quick steering, adjustable magnetic suspension, and much more. Every aspect of the car’s astonishing performance is accessible via the steering wheel-mounted Manettino dial, transforming the F12 from relaxed GT to thundering hypercar at the twist of a knob. The F12 vanquishes 60 mph in 3 seconds, 120 mph in 8.5, and tops out at 211 miles per hour, all while also cosseting occupants in a gorgeous, leather-clad cockpit with a generous cargo area in the rear hatch. Beautiful, brutal, and yet remarkably practical, the Ferrari F12 will surely leave an indelible mark in Ferrari lore for years to come.

It is with great pleasure that we offer this stunning 2014 F12 Berlinetta, presented in a beautiful and rare shade of Bianco Fuji over a gorgeous Iroko brown interior. Any F12 is a rare sight, but this example is unique, created for its original owner through Ferrari’s exclusive Atelier program. The Atelier design studio is reserved for distinguished clients who work directly with specialists to tailor their Ferrari down to the last stitch. Unique paint colors, leathers, and bespoke options are only available through the program, so no two cars are alike. This example features a dizzying array of options and special fittings, totaling more than $86,000. Exterior options include the multi-layer Bianco Fuji paint, 20-inch charcoal finish wheels, yellow calipers, Scuderia shields, sport sill covers, and more. The factory paintwork is in near showroom condition, thanks in part to extensive use of high-end paint-protection film and careful enjoyment by its previous keepers.

The F12 carries on the Daytona tradition, offering a luxurious cabin with generous luggage space while also delivering thunderous performance. This car features gorgeous dark brown “Iroko” leather on the deep, carbon-backed sport seats, finished with exquisite contrasting cream-colored stitching. Bespoke touches include matching leather and stitching on the upper door panels, upper and lower dash, center console, and headlining. Other options of note include a carbon-trimmed steering wheel with F1-inspired LED shift lights, carbon dash trim, parking camera, privacy glass, and Cavallino headrests. The large rear hatch reveals a generous boot with plenty of room for luggage. As with the exterior, the interior is in superb order, reflective of the car’s meticulous care and exceptionally low miles.

Mechanically, it is in excellent order, and service records show consistent Ferrari dealer service in the hands of its previous owners, as well as a new set of Pirelli tires in 2017, and it remains under the factory’s 7-year complimentary maintenance program. The mighty V12 wears original red wrinkle-finish cam covers and intake for a dramatic presentation under the hood. Underbody panels are intact and in excellent order, with only some light scuffs noted on the forward section when viewed from beneath. The sale of this F12 presents a rare opportunity to acquire a unique, highly optioned, and exceptional Atilier-spec example for a fraction of the original MSRP. It will undoubtedly entertain its next keeper for years to come and is sure to become a standout in Ferrari’s illustrious history.
