Director of Operations
Job Summary
We are looking for an individual with excellent management experience from the automotive industry to oversee the day-to-day operations of our growing business. We require an individual with strong knowledge of accounting and service center operation systems for automotive shops. Additionally, this person needs experience in implementing accounting and service center operation systems in an automotive business. This person will work with both the sales and service departments; oversee vehicle repair, restoration, shipping and parts coordination and maintenance needs for the facility. Finally, the individual we desire must have work experience implementing quality and efficiency processes and measures impacting productivity and profitability.Duties and Responsibilities

- Manage and lead a ten-person automotive shop team of mechanics, detailers, and porters.
- Coordinating employee work schedules, leading daily team meetings, enforcing company policies, and prioritizing scheduled & unscheduled maintenance.
- Coordinate and collaborate cross-functionally with all departments including management, accounting, sales, and shop.
- Manage process to ensure cars are prepared and loaded for viewings or car shows.
- Monitor and maintain shop department financials and key performance metrics including an operating budget for repair order sales as well as shop expenses ·
- Responsible for reviewing and tracking shop department expenses (receipt submission, approvals, per diem adherence, etc.) ·
- Manage and document all inbound and outbound assessments and tracking of vehicles; update all assessment information in Word Press system · Maintain shop stock and associated inventories ·
- Manage complete car reconditioning and repairs efficiently in a quality manner as needed to meet management, sales team, and customer expectations
- Coordinate and manage all outsourced shop work with third party vendors.
- Responsible for all building repairs and maintenance including oversight and inspection of work performed by outside contractors (i.e., landscaping, alarm system, HVAC, electrical, plumbing and or remodeling)
- Maintain a safe, clean, and organized work environment. · Perform other duties and special projects as assigned by management
- Assess and implement integrated data systems for accounting, sales, and the automotive service center.
- Implement and drive quality and efficiency processes and measures for productivity and profitability.
Requirements
Education & Experience- Bachelor’s degree preferred)
- Five to seven years’ experience in vehicle reconditioning and the auto repair industry.
- Three to five years’ managerial experience leading large teams.
- Three to five years’ experience managing financials, reviewing budgets, and tracking performance metrics.
- Strong leadership and communication skills.
- Results oriented.
- Proven ability to adapt and remove obstacles to achieve results.
- Ability to thrive in a demanding environment, and multi-task to effectively prioritize work tasks.
- Ability to read, analyze, and interpret professional journals, and government regulations.
- Bachelor’s degree from a four-year college preferred.
- Must have a valid driver’s license.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
- Experience with “At Your Service” or “Word Press” systems is a plus.
- May occasionally stand, walk, stoop, kneel, or crouch.
- Regularly sit, use hands, handle, feel, and reach.
- Occasionally lift, push, pull, or move up to 25 lbs. individually.
